1. Run an Air Purifier with Activated Carbon Filters

If you’re not a smoker and just want to get rid of trapped smoke smells in an existing room, the same concept will apply. Just place the device in the rooma and let it run until the smoke and odors go away.
2. Use Vinegar
Vinegar has a very strong scent, but it’s also effective for removing smoke and smoke odors from fabric and walls or flooring.
To start, add one cup of vinegar to two cups of water and let it boil. It’ll diffuse throughout your home.
You can also mix water and vinegar and scrub down your hard surfaces, and add a cup of vinegar to your clothing or fabric instead of laundry soap and run them through the wash.
Finally, add a few small bowls of vinegar around your room to draw the smell out.
3. Sprinkle Baking Soda on Carpets, Furniture, and Rugs

If you open a window with an air purifier in the room, then the machine will have to start all over again to filter the air. It’s best to air out a room with open windows first, then shut the windows, and turn the air purifier on full blast without opening the windows again.
5. Remove Any and All Smoke Sources
Have you cleaned out all of the smoke sources in your home? If not, they could be the source of lingering smells.
Make sure that you remove any cigarette butts, cigar ends, ashtrays, and ashes. Place them in a plastic bag, seal it, and take it outside to your trash.
This will stop your home from reabsorbing the smoke smell that leaches out of these things.
